You can do it (besides, you'll be asleep through the worst part)! Take the pain killers for a couple days and DON'T dislodge those clots! If you do continue to bleed, try GENTLY biting on a cold wet teabag as a compress -it works! The doc should tell you: +ice it (15 min on, then 15 off) +NO STRAWS or carbonated beverages!!! +no rinsing for 24hrs and don't brush immediately around the surgical sites -you can use gravity to GENTLY 'flow' water around mouth as you tip yr head from side to side +soft, protein-rich diet; nothing too acidic; plenty of water, juice +Plenty of rest (8-10hrs sleep/night -yes!) and not alot of talking +if pain gets worse (deep dull ache) after 2-3days or if you can't easily open jaw, call the oral surgeon back -you may have dry socket. I'm sure you'll be just fine!!!
