I had a fever of 101 last night, today my tongue is totally white. So I called my doctor and he said I have Thrush and is prescribing antibiotics. I spent around 16 hours in bed from last night until this morning. Luckily, WalGreens is open and will fill the prescriptions for $163.

You might ask if an enzyme-containing artificial saliva (Biotene) would help at all with keeping those 'bugs' in check. This sounds like a side effect of the dry mouth. Just me guessing.
