I went to see Dr Baines today and got the flouride trays for my teeth. I will have to put those in every night for 20 minutes before I go to sleep. The challenge for me on this one is going to be buying into flouride.
Surgery for the tubes is scheduled for Friday at noon with Dr Ashworth.
Digging in the crates tonight with DJ Fizz looking for some vinyl to move out to pay for some of these loverly Xpenses.
More tomorrow.

Really? I thought I had helped some with that.
All of those arguments pertain to fluoridation of public water supplies, which causes the fluoride to be ingested (swallowed). What you are doing is using the fluoride topically (on the outside of the tooth); as long as you don't EAT it, you are not in danger of fluoride toxicity. Plus, you'd have to eat a whole lot of it to get to toxic or lethal quantities.
Having carefully reviewed much of the literature on this, I really think topical fluoride is safe (except in very young children who may end up swallowing it).
Furthermore, the 'dry mouth' you will experience from radiation treatment puts your teeth at an increased risk for tooth decay (saliva contains pH buffers and Ca to keep the surfaces of the teeth hard). I'd rather see you keep the rest of your teeth as healthy as possible. You'll need them for the rest of your life -you did say you like chewing, right?
Any questions?
Thanks for all your knowledge, Diane and for caring!!!
